PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Protective Services provides 24/7 security coverage for the NCI-Frederick campus, the Vaccine Pilot Plant, and the Advanced Technology Research Facility. (ATRF)
*3:30pm to midnight Monday - Friday
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Protective Services Officer II will:
- Perform periodic inspection of all grounds and facilities
- Control access to facilities through the use of a computerized access control system
- Respond to scientific alarms
- Observe surroundings for possible health and safety hazards.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Possession of an Associate's degree in a Security related discipline from an accredited college/university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in a related field (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education). Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency
- In addition to educational requirements, a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in security or law enforcement, including instrumentation
- Certification in First Aid or required
- Must become First Aid, CPR/AED certified within 60 days of hire date
- Must attend training in hazardous waste operations at the awareness level
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
